2020 Annual Program Survey
|
|
|
Child Care Aware of New Hampshire (CCAoNH) powered by Southern New Hampshire Services recently sent out our 2020 Annual Program Survey. The Survey is a tool we use to assist us in assessing current program services and to inform future planning. Therefore, we are seeking input on your experiences with your program receiving referrals, outreach, marketing materials, our website, LiveChat feature, training, TA, consultation and coaching services. Please note, this survey is regarding services provided directly by the Southern NH Services' Child Care Aware of NH program. Thus, we are not seeking feedback on the ECCP or CCRSP process as these are services we partner on; they are services provided through the Bureau of Child Development and Head Start Collaboration. If you have not had an opportunity to complete this year's survey, please take a moment to do so, your thoughts and opinions matter to us! The survey will be open until Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Thank you!

by Susan C. Margolln shared by the Washington Post

Forts have always been a universal part of childhood. They are a secure, safe space that each child creates to block out the world and only their own rules apply. See more about how forts can help children regulate their bodies and emotion when hidden under a blanket.

If there are topics you are interested in seeing as Professional Development, please reach out to NHAEYC and let them know, so they can meet the needs of their members. NHAEYC is also asking for pictures from accredited programs, which we can use on our website. Please no pictures with people in them, as we would like to highlight the environment in one of our sections, as we refresh the site.
We are excited to announce Ross Ewing as the new Vice President for the Governing Board. Thank you to all that voted and congratulations to Ross. We are all excited to continue our work with Ross, as he moves from the Secretary role to Vice President. Please also visit our Facebook Page to see daily posts related to the Early Childhood Field.
The next board meeting is scheduled for September 9, 2020. These meetings are open to all members. If you are interested in joining us, please email information@nhaeyc.org to receive the zoom link.

To: New Hampshire School Nurses and Child Care Directors
From: New Hampshire Immunization Program
Date: August 3, 2020
Three months ago, the NH Immunization Program (NHIP) responded to questions being received about school and child care immunization requirements in light of the coronavirus pandemic. The initial response to the pandemic meant that many health care provider offices consolidated services, postponed well child visits, and, in some cases, closed offices.
As a result, it is possible that some students missed routine vaccinations and may not be up-to-date for all of the NH school and childcare immunization requirements when schools and child care reopen.
While there was an initial significant drop in vaccine orders early in the pandemic, that trend has reversed. Health care providers were encouraged to find ways to continue to provide routine childhood immunizations and mostly have done so. Those offices that closed or consolidated have found new ways of providing preventative services, including vaccinations. In addition to developing safe strategies to provide immunizations, providers were and are encouraged to use any in person visit as an opportunity to assess for and provide recommended vaccines. And, for children who may have missed appointments in the spring, strategies for catch up vaccination are now being promoted.
Current NH administrative rules already allow for conditional enrollment of students who have had a least one vaccine dose in a series and an appointment for the next dose. Therefore, even students who may have fallen behind should be able to be conditionally enrolled when schools and child care reopen. Students without at least 1 dose of each required vaccine should not be enrolled unless they have a valid exemption.
Therefore, as was true last spring, there will not be any changes, or a need for changes, to the existing school and child care immunization requirements at this time.
Of course, we will continue to monitor the rapidly changing situation. We look forward to our continued collaboration with NH school nurses and NH childcare providers and educators to ensure that all students and their families are safe.
Thank you for all you do today and every day!
