SEPTEMBER 2018
FROM OUR CEO, KELLY O'LAGUE DULKA
"One of the best feelings in the world is giving.  The positive energy is contagious.  With just one act of kindness, you can inspire others to go out and plant seeds of happiness through giving, too."

It's funny. In my first eight months as CEO at Child Care Links, the question I've been asked the most is: "What exactly does Child Care Links do?" In the beginning I would explain, first of all, that we aren't a child care provider. Then I would go on to explain all the different programs and resources we offer; programs like our child care subsidy program, resource and referral services we provide, our diaper pantry, our trainings for child care providers. Or I'd tell them about our mission, which is to provide resources that strengthen and support children and families. That's all so vague!

What do we actually do? We work everyday to lift children out of poverty. We ensure that the youngest, most vulnerable residents in our county get the care and support they need. That's right...the youngest and most vulnerable kids in Alameda County! We know that 90% of brain development happens by age 5. We know that kids living in poverty are less likely be ready for kindergarten, more likely to go to school hungry, less likely to graduate from high school, more likely to be incarcerated, and, sadly, very likely to suffer negative effects for the rest of their lives after living in poverty for even a short time.

So, yes, we do offer a wide array of programs and we do connect families with high quality child care; but, our primary mission is to ensure that EVERY child has the resources and support they need to thrive.

Doing some cleaning?

Getting rid of stuff?
We can help!

WHAT'S GOING ON AT CHILD CARE LINKS?
Playgroups
Coming Soon!

At Child Care Links we know the importance of social interaction, physical activity, and building social emotional skills in young children, especially in children ages
0 to 5 years old.

Child Care Links is excited to announce that beginning in October we will be providing playgroups for children and their parents/caregivers!

Children will have the opportunity to experience free play, meet new friends, learn the art of sharing and taking turns, and exploring a library of fun and engaging books, and literacy activities.

Parents/caregivers will have the opportunity to play and interact with their child, meet new friends, share experiences and develop a support network of other parents/caregivers.
We LOVE Volunteers!
Join Our T-E-A-M!

O ur mission at Child Care Links is to provide resources that strengthen and support children and families. We rely on volunteers to help us realize this mission!

Are you, or someone you know, looking for a way to give back to your community? Do you have or know a High School student that needs service hours? We would LOVE to have you!

Volunteers help by donating funds, hosting a diaper, food or clothing drive at their business, church or even among their family and friends. Volunteers can even join us at the office to help with the sorting and organizing of donations, and greeting and assisting our families when they come to pick up diapers, clothes, or food!

There are plenty of ways to give back at Child Care Links we would love to have your help.
