| ISU Insights: Rhonda Evans award finalist |
Rhonda Evans, Program Specialist II for Parenting: It's a Life, was the runner-up finalist for the 2024 Student Employee Supervisor of the Year award. A ceremony was held in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union on March 20, to recognize supervisors nominated for the SESOTY award. At the same event, nominees of the Student Employee of the Year award were also recognized. We are thrilled Rhonda was honored as a finalist for 2024.
Here is one quote from her nomination letter, “Rhonda has exemplified what it means to be a safe space as a person and someone you can go to with anything, either personal or professional and know that she is going to put a lot of thought and effort into helping you because she cares. She spends so much of her time building amazing relationships and showing up for people and being that person that everybody knows they can count on.”

Policy Corner:
Iowa Workforce Development is in the process of replacing their mainframe system with a modern web-based system. Testing of the automated file transfers between the new IWD system, ICAR and other HHS systems is currently underway. The original IWD target date for implementation was June 3, 2024. This has been pushed back, but an exact date is to be determined. IWD anticipates it will go into production sometime during the summer of 2024.
