| ISU Insights: Child Support Attorney Conference | The Iowa Child Support Conference provides Assistant Attorneys General who represent the Child Support Unit with the opportunity to interact with colleagues and engage in presentations addressing the legal issues and practical difficulties they face day-to-day. This was the first time in two years we were able to have this conference in person. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, along with everyone new, and the presenters were engaging and informative. Overall, the conference was very well received, and we're looking forward to next year. | I am always trying to keep up with the constantly changing trends in technology and training. As 2022 comes to a close and 2023 is on the horizon, many articles are coming out discussing what next year’s most popular trends and software will be. While these articles are helpful, they all come back to the similar theme of creating what will be the most engaging and educational content for staff. One of the strategies to meet that goal is through microlearning. | |

Policy Corner:
Currently, Child Support is transitioning our SharePoint sites to the new “SharePoint Online” format. This transition will allow for content to be presented in an updated format with a modern look and feel. In the next couple of months, you will see the new sites and features. As content is migrated to SharePoint Online, Child Support will keep you up to date about the moves.
As part of this transition, the CSRU Portal Page and Best Practices Handbook are being rebuilt in SharePoint Online. In addition to a refreshed look and organization, the issues with links not displaying correctly will no longer be an issue. There will also be a search feature which will aid you in finding the content you need quickly and easily, which has been missing from our current intranet site.
MAPPS Procedures are also being rebuilt in SharePoint Online. This will be a dedicated location for Child Support procedures. Since the site is no longer shared with other divisions within HHS, documents can now be assigned child support specific process codes to help simplify your searches and filtering abilities.
This transition will assist all Child Support staff with getting the information they need more easily and efficiently.
