Happy 2023 to all of our families at St Andrews! We could not be more excited about the new year ahead, from an awesome lineup of EYC events to the return of our pancake supper and a new offering for our K-5th grade kids. We look forward to celebrating this season with all of you.

Winter/Spring EYC Calendar

We have an awesome semester of service, celebration, and more ahead for our middle and high school youth! EYC meets two Sundays per month, usually in Herman Hall, our dedicated youth space in the basement of the church, from 5-6:30.

Printed calendars for EYC are available on the tables by the doors in the Parish Hall and at EYC meetings in January and February.

Our youth community needs help from parents and parishioners to succeed! If you would like to volunteer to help at one (or more!) of our EYC meetings, you may do so here.

Help Us Fill Blessing Bags for our Neighbors in Need

This Sunday, January 15th we will celebrate MLK National Day of Service by packing 'Blessings Bags' for our neighbors in need at the IRC. Help us collect the things our houseless brothers and sisters need to make it through the winter months: socks, toiletries, and handwarmers, and pack bags of them to be delivered to the IRC on Monday, January 16th.

Would you like to provide one or two of the items for our Blessing Bags? You can sign up and find amazon links here!

Sign Up For the Bishops Ball!

Jan 27-29th, Haw River State Park

Register by January 22nd!

Bishops’ Ball, one of the most beloved diocesan gatherings for youth, is back in person for a weekend event January 27-29, at Haw River State Park. This is a diocesan event for both middle and high school youth to engage with the bishops, attend workshops, and have fun and fellowship with their peers.

This year's event will include all the favorite activities: music, workshops, building community, worship, and a special dinner and dance on Saturday night. The highlight of course is the dance on Saturday and both of our bishops will be there, dancing the night away with us! The cost is $126 for youth and $100 for adults. Some scholarship money is available.

Godly Play Helpers Needed!

Have you ever wondered where all of the kids go when they process out of the sanctuary during church? They head down to our wonderful Godly Play room, upstairs on the yellow hall!

Godly Play is a Montessori-based approach to children's formation, teaching the Bible through stories, imagination, and play. Each week, we learn a new story or parable, then the children have time for creative work, painting, molding clay, building, and more.

We are looking for extra hands to help with Godly Play this winter and spring. If you are interested in being a part of our children's ministry, you may sign up here.

Calling all Pancake Lovers!

Shrove Tuesday is on Tuesday, February 21st this year, and we are so excited that our beloved pancake supper will be back - in person - in the parish hall! Join us for pancakes, sausage, baked apples, and fellowship.

EYC, we need your help to pull this off! Our beloved senior gentlemen, who have always manned the spatulas for this event, are ready to begin passing the torch on to you. If you are able to help serve, bus tables, and hand out door prizes, mark your calendars. We'll send out more info soon!

Save the Date for a Communion Celebration!

On April 23rd and 30th, we invite all interested elementary-age children to join us after church for a celebration of communion, a two-class series where we will learn about the rite of communion, why we celebrate it each week, and what it means to us as a church. The first week, families will meet in the church for a story, tour of the sacristy, and Communion Show and Tell, and the second week we will meet in the Godly Play room to learn the story of World Communion. On May 7th, we will sit together as a group during church, and will take communion together. We hope you will join us for this fun opportunity to learn more about this important rite.
