As we move into the final stretch of the 2024-2025 academic year, we want to thank you for a wonderful year of partnership, growth, and joy. June is filled with meaningful moments, and we want to make sure you have all the important dates on your radar.
🗓️ Wednesday, June 12 – Final Family Council Meeting: Join us for our last Family Council of the school year! This is a great opportunity to reflect on the year, share feedback, and connect with other families and staff. Your voice helps shape the future of our program—we’d love to see you there!
🛑 Wednesday, June 19 – School Closed for Juneteenth: In observance of Juneteenth, all LEAP locations will be closed. This federal holiday honors the end of slavery in the United States and is a day for reflection, education, and community.
🎓 Thursday, June 27 – Preschool Promotion (Goleta Locations): We’re excited to celebrate our preschoolers at Phelps and West Campus as they wrap up their academic journey at LEAP. 🎉
Stay tuned for more details about this special event. Please note: this is a celebration of their school-year accomplishments. Students will continue attending through August 15, enjoying a fun and enriching summer program!
📍 Lompoc Preschool Promotion: For our Lompoc families, we’ll hold preschool promotion on the last day of the school year (August 15). We’ll be in touch with families whose children are transitioning to TK or Kindergarten to coordinate this special milestone.
💧 Hot Weather Reminder: As temperatures rise, we continue to prioritize your child’s safety and comfort. Please dress your child in light, breathable clothing and bring a labeled water bottle daily. Our staff ensures plenty of hydration, shaded play, and indoor activities during peak heat hours.

📍 Promoción de Preescolar en Lompoc: Para nuestras familias de Lompoc, tendremos la promoción de preescolar el último día del año escolar (15 de agosto). Nos pondremos en contacto con las familias cuyos hijos estén en transición a TK o Kindergarten para coordinar este evento especial.
💧 Recordatorio para el Calor: A medida que suben las temperaturas, seguimos priorizando la seguridad y comodidad de su hijo. Por favor, vista a su hijo con ropa ligera y transpirable y traiga una botella de agua etiquetada a diario. Nuestro personal garantiza una buena hidratación, juegos a la sombra y actividades en interiores durante las horas pico de calor.

We hope you will join us for our upcoming Immigration Webinar on June 11th, and our last Food Distribution on June 12th.
LEAP is excited to offer a series of engaging and supportive workshops designed to address the unique challenges faced by our community. In partnership with Dr. Gina Vanegas, these monthly virtual sessions will provide valuable tools for managing stress, building emotional resilience, supporting mental health, and fostering a sense of belonging. The next session will be on June 25th.

LEAP se complace en ofrecer una serie de talleres participativos y de apoyo diseñados para abordar los desafíos únicos que enfrenta nuestra comunidad. En colaboración con la Dra. Prevent Type 2 Diabetes
Cottage Health and LEAP are offering PreventT2, a free series of classes designed to help individuals with prediabetes live a healthy life and prevent the onset of diabetes. Participants will learn ways to eat better and increase physical activity, while connecting with others who share the same goals for improving their health.
About 35% of Hispanics and Latinos experience prediabetes, while only 21% of Hispanics and Latinos are aware that they have it. Prediabetes is a condition that comes before type 2 diabetes and means a person’s blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as diabetes. Take this free, anonymous quiz to find out your prediabetes risk.

Prevenga la diabetes tipo 2
Cottage Health y LEAP ofrecen Prevenga T2, una serie de clases gratuitas diseñadas para ayudar a las personas con prediabetes a vivir una vida saludable y prevenir la aparición de la diabetes. Los participantes aprenderán formas de comer mejor y aumentar la actividad física, mientras se conectan con otras personas que comparten los mismos objetivos para mejorar su salud.
Alrededor del 35% de los hispanos y latinos experimentan prediabetes, mientras que solo el 21% de los hispanos y latinos saben que la tienen. Picnic in the Park (PIP) is a program hosted by the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County during summer break. The program provides free lunches to children (18 and under) countywide on Monday – Friday. Everyone is welcome, and there is no sign-up or registration process.
