Full Moon Hike
(for families with children ages 4 and up)
Friday, January 10 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Join us for a walk in the woods under the moonlight. On our easy stroll through the woodland trails, we will talk about how our senses work differently at night. Afterwards, we'll warm up with hot chocolate! Registration is required.

Family Arboretum Challenge
(for families with children ages 4 and up
)
Saturday, January 11 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am
Equipped with a map and compass, families will head out into the gardens and woodlands in search of hidden clues. Once completed, head inside for some hot chocolate, and work together to decipher the code. A great activity to exercise your child's problem-solving skills! Registration is required.

Oaks & Acorns - Martin Luther King, Jr., A National Hero
(for children ages 3-5 with an adult)
Wednesday, January 15 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Join us for our Winter session of Oaks and Acorns. Take nature walks, tell stories, and create a one-of-a-kind art project every week. Today we will learn about this famous man who left a wonderful message for us. Registration is required.

Hey kids! What's your favorite comfort food? Comfort foods are foods that you love to eat, they warm you up inside, and make your taste buds and your tummy happy! Join us in the Historic Wisner house kitchen, as we whip up some of your favorites. Registration is required.

MLK Day of Service - Reuse, Recycle and Reach Out
Monday, January 20 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Stop by the Stackhouse Education Center to create a unique card from recycled materials. On Valentine's Day, your card will warm the heart of a patient in a local hospital. Appropriate for all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required.

Come celebrate the Chinese New Year as we create crafts, make a tasty snack, and enjoy stories commemorating the Year of the Rat! Registration is required.

Tap that Tree!
(for children ages 5 and up with an adult)
Saturday, January 25 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am
February marks the beginning of maple sugaring season. Join us as we tap the Arboretum's maple trees in preparation for this season's sap flow. Not only will families learn the hows and whys behind tapping trees, but they will also get first-hand experience actually helping us do it! Registration is required.
