"Pinwheels for Prevention" on April 24th!

The Center's annual "Pinwheels for Prevention" Pinwheel Planting, in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, is THIS WEEK! Please join us this Friday, April 24th at 10:00 AM here at our Center. Joining with our partner agencies and local community and business leaders, we will plant 1,200 pinwheels to represent the 1,200+ children we will serve in 2026. Coffee and donuts will be provided, and the Center will be open for tours following the planting.

The pinwheel is the national symbol for child abuse prevention, as the pinwheel connotes playfulness, joy, and childhood, and is a physical representation of the happy and healthy lives that all children deserve.

If you are interested in learning more about our pinwheel planting, contact Taylor Ballinger at taylor@kykids.org.

Thank you to Republic Bank for making this event possible!

CAC of the Bluegrass's Legendary Partner:

Anna Stark

Every year the Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky honors individuals throughout the state who go above and beyond to protect children in their community.

CAC of the Bluegrass's nominee, Anna Stark, is a Specialized Investigator with the Northern Bluegrass Service Region of DCBS and a worthy recipient of the 2026 Legendary Partner award.

Anna has the distinct superpower of building authentic relationships with children so they feel heard, seen and cared for. However, the true gift of Anna is her ability, through relationship, to advocate and show up for each of her families, whether it be, in the courtroom, conversations, or any other means necessary.

We are so proud to work with her. Congratulations, Anna!

Child Abuse Prevention Month Kickoff!

April has been full of amazing events for Child Abuse Prevention Month!

On April 1st, CAC of the Bluegrass team members all wore blue for #WearBlueDay in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Pictured above are a few staff members in their blue.

CAC of the Bluegrass also had the opportunity to attend Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky's Child Abuse Prevention Month Kickoff and Pinwheel Planting in Frankfort. It was a wonderful opportunity to join with individuals and partners throughout the state who wish to see a world free of child abuse, including PCAKY Executive Director Jill Seyfred and Governor Andy Beshear.
