Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky Executive Director, Caroline Ruschell, was awarded the Outstanding Chapter Leader Award at the National Children's Alliance Leadership Conference

Congratulations Caroline Ruschell

Earlier this month, Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky Executive Director, Caroline Ruschell, was awarded the Outstanding Chapter Leader Award at The National Children's Alliance Leadership Conference. In her role, Caroline assists and supports CACs throughout the state. She is dedicated to ensuring that every child impacted by abuse receives the quality of services that they deserve, and we can't think of anyone more deserving of this award. Thank you for all that you do!

While at the conference, Executive Director, Winn Stephens, was also able to join CAC of Kentucky in meeting with members of Senator Mitch McConnell's health care and child welfare staff, Congressman Brett Guthrie, and members of Congressman Andy Barr's staff. It was a great opportunity to share the value of Children's Advocacy Centers and the importance of their partnerships.

Let's talk about body safety!

Summer is a time of new routines and schedules, so it's a great time to refresh yourself on information regarding body safety. It is never too early to have these conversations with your children. If you suspect abuse, please call the child abuse hotline immediately: 1-877-597-2331.

Honorable Kentucky Colonels Board Member, Lynn Ashton with

CACBG Development Associate, Emily Metcalfe

Thank you Kentucky Colonels

The Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass is fortunate to have been awarded funds from the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels. Through their Good Works Giving Program, we will be developing a therapy resource library where children will be able to access books and videos that discuss themes such as abuse/trauma, grief, fostering, anxiety, and more. Through their financial support, we are able to provide crucial resources to child survivors in Central Kentucky.

CACBG Staff Volunteer at Arbor Youth Services

There are many wonderful organizations doing important work to serve the needs of folks throughout Central Kentucky. The CACBG team has begun a new initiative to engage with some of these community organizations via quarterly volunteer outings. This month, our team helped with yard work and organization of storage spaces at Arbor Youth Services in Lexington. The mission of Arbor Youth is to end youth homelessness by providing a safe and supportive environment to youth who have suffered abuse, abandonment, or are at risk of victimization. If you would like to learn more about this important resource in the Lexington community, then visit www.arborky.org.
