The Children's Advocacy

Center of the Bluegrass

Mark your calendars! The CAC of the Bluegrass's biggest event of the year is almost here! Join us on August 23rd at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort for a night of fun to support the incredible work of the Center. We will have cocktails, dinner, silent auction items, live auction items, a photo booth, live music, and more! You won't want to miss it!

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we invite you to wear your pearls as we come together in support of children and families in Central Kentucky.

Tables and/or individual tickets can be purchased at this link. For information on sponsorship opportunities, contact Taylor at Taylor@kykids.org. See you soon!

Summer Safety

The summer season is a busy time for families. Your child may be going to camps, or spending more time with babysitters and/or friends. Talking to your kids about body safety can keep your children safe. Check out these important body safety tips, and visit our website (linked here) for more information and resources.

Kentucky State Police Cadet Class 104 Supports Kristin's Closet

This month, Kentucky State Police Training Academy's Cadet Class 104 chose to help support children and families affected by child sexual abuse in Central Kentucky by collecting monetary donations to be used for Kristin's Closet.

When a child or family visits our Center in crisis, we are able to distribute emergency items through Kristin's Closet to help alleviate any burdens they might be experiencing. Such items include toiletries, new clothing, diapers, journals, and more. We rely on donations from our community to make this resource possible.

Cadet Class 104 raised $2,801 to be used for Kristin's Closet. This donation will have a huge impact on the children and families we serve. We are appreciative of their support, and wish them a huge congratulations for graduating from the KSP Training Academy!

We Love Our Community!

The work of CAC of the Bluegrass is not possible without the support from amazing individuals, businesses, and community groups. We have been so grateful to have several of these supporters stop by the Center this summer!

On May 29th, the UK Kentucky Children's Hospital Office of Philanthropy volunteered to help with some outdoor projects at the Center, including painting the back steps, weeding, and mulching.

Representatives from LBX visited on May 31st for a tour and presentation on CAC services. They graciously donated $1,000 that will be used to continue our healing services for children and families.

Junior League of Lexington has been involved with CAC of the Bluegrass throughout the years, and new members visited us on June 14th to learn more about the CAC and how they can get involved.

We would love to host you for a tour if you are interested! To schedule, contact Taylor Ballinger at taylor@kykids.org.
