Lunch and Learn at Gray

Earlier this month, CAC of the Bluegrass team members Lindsey Burns and Taylor Ballinger were on hand at Gray in downtown Lexington for a presentation on spotting signs of child sexual abuse, body safety, and internet safety for children. This was a great opportunity for our team to share abuse prevention information with members of the broader community, who, like most people, have children they love and care for in their lives. If your organization, team, or business is interested in providing this information for your employees, please contact Lindsey Burns at Lindsey@kykids.org!

Welcome Jennifer Johnson Koch!

Join us in welcoming the newest member of the CAC of the Bluegrass team, Program Director Jennifer Johnson Koch. Jennifer brings a wealth of experience and will be overseeing our programs and initiatives, ensuring that all children receive the quality services that they deserve!

Jennifer has been in non-profit work in Lexington since 2008, and has worked in trauma response and prevention since 2011. When asked why she decided to bring her talents to CAC of the Bluegrass, she said: "I have seen the long-lasting effects of trauma in people’s lives. Like most people, folks I care about have been impacted by child abuse. I believe deeply in the power of intervention and support in mitigating the effects of trauma. When we show up for kids who have experienced abuse we help that child, their family system, and our whole community. We improve the lives of people now and in the future by intervening in cycles of violence."

In her short time on staff thus far, she notes that has already had opportunities to see how excellent and dedicated CACBG staff are to doing what is best for kids, working collaboratively with community partners to achieve the best outcomes for our families and communities, and thinking creatively to meet the individual needs of each child and family.

In her free time, Jennifer says you will usually find her outside, hiking and camping, or reading a book in a hammock (if she's not not keeping up with her own energetic kiddos). She also enjoys cooking and eating new things, and taking walks around town with her husband and their dog.

We are thrilled to have Jennifer on the CAC of the Bluegrass team!
