2024 was an incredible year for the CAC of the Bluegrass! We’re excited to share our Annual Report with you, offering a closer look at our work and the impact we've made in the communities we serve.

Welcome, Lauren!

We are thrilled to welcome Lauren Besednjak to the CAC of the Bluegrass team! Lauren joined us as our SANE Nurse and Clinic Coordinator in December and has already helped several children within our medical program.

With 19 years of nursing experience in pediatrics, Lauren has helped facilitate the evaluation of children suspected of maltreatment. When asked why she wanted to join the CAC team, Lauren shared, "I want to continue using my passion, training, and experience to assist and comfort innocent child victims of sexual abuse. I aim to be a voice for victims and provide a source of comfort and safety throughout the evaluation process.

When not working, Lauren enjoys spending time at home with her husband, Rocco, and dog, Adeliade. She loves to work out, and stays busy operating her nonprofit Camp Hero that provides mental health support services for veterans and first responders through the outdoors.

A Great Way to End 2024!

The end of the year is always a special time for our organization, with several individuals and businesses donating their time and resources to help make an impact on children and families throughout the Bluegrass.

This support is especially felt in our emergency resource room, Kristin's Closet. We had several individuals and businesses organize donation drives for us, including J. Render's Southern Table & Bar! With their support, we are able to provide new clothing, toiletries, and more for children and families in crisis.
