Angelle is a firm believer in the power of the therapeutic relationship and takes a client-centered approach in working with children and families. In her spare time she enjoys cheering for the Tigers AND the Dawgs, catching rays at the beach, and going to concerts.

Donations Continue to Come In!

We continue to be blown away by the incredible generosity of individuals and groups throughout our community who have supplied Kristin's Closet with donations. If you're part of a church or civic group who might be interested in supplying items, or are interested in personal donations, please let us know. We still have need!

Emily Bonistall Postel dropped off several donations in early June, including diapers, journals, toiletry items, and more!

We are continuing to accept donations for Kristin's Closet. If interested, please email Taylor@kykids.org.

Staff Spotlight

Abby Diaz

Intake Coordinator

Abby has been on the CACBG team for nearly three years. Since she was a child, she knew she wanted to work in a place that helped children and families. In particular, Abby loves having the opportunity to work with our Spanish speaking families. She is able to provide a listening ear, words of encouragement, and the resources that CACBG offers.

Abby takes inspiration from Kristin Jenkins, long time Program Director to whom Kristin's Closet is dedicated, and a quote Kristin kept in her office: “A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” -- Forest E. Witcraft

In her free time, Abby likes spending time with her family and her boyfriend, and traveling to concerts. Her absolute favorite place in the world is Mexico. "I love the culture, food, and beautiful destinations Mexico has. I also get to visit my family there, which makes it even more special," Abby said.

Safe Kids Day 2022

Our own Whitney Roepke represented CACBG at Lexington's annual "Safe Kids Day" earlier this month. Summer can be a dangerous time for children, with increased risks associated with activities like swimming and bike riding, and with children spending longer hours at home each day. Whitney was on hand to pass out note cards from the Center on spotting signs of abuse and ways to report abuse. As a certified child passenger safety technician, Whitney also helped provide car seat safety checks!
