CAC of the Bluegrass Welcomes Two New

Team Members!

Sara Kay Short

Child and Family Advocate

Sara Kay is our newest Child and Family Advocate and will be providing support to ensure that children and families have the resources they need along their path to hope and healing. Originally from Berea, KY, Sara Kay attended Johnson University in Tennessee where she majored in Psychology and Bible and Theology. In her free time, you can find her listening to Taylor Swift, drinking chai tea, or thrifting!

Welcome, Sara Kay!

Traci Wilson

Multidisciplinary Enhancement Coordinator

Traci is passionate about helping children and families, and in her role will be collaborating with our partner agencies to ensure that children have access to our Center's services. In her free time, Traci enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, crocheting, and volunteering with local animal rescues. She also loves to travel, and just returned from a trip to Jamaica!

We are excited to have Traci on the team!

New Partnership with Georgetown Women in Business

Women in Business, a networking group within the Georgetown/Scott County Chamber of Commerce, has chosen CAC of the Bluegrass as one of their nonprofit partners for 2024! This month, Development Associate Emily Metcalfe was able to join their monthly Women in Business breakfast where she gave an overview of CACBG services and the importance of the Children's Advocacy Center model. We are looking forward to this new partnership, and to strengthen our relationships with individuals and businesses in the Scott County community!

Women in Business' mission is to enhance character, career and community

through cultivating business alliances, advocating women's issues, educating each other, and supporting the Georgetown/Scott County Chamber of Commerce.

CAC of Kentucky

Manager Development Training

On February 13th, we hosted staff from Children's Advocacy Centers throughout Kentucky for CAC Kentucky's Manager Development Program training. Two of our very own were able to attend - Lead Child and Family Advocate, Whitney, and our Program Director, Jennifer!

The goal of the Ray Larson Education Center is to provide a space for our community partners to learn, collaborate, and develop. We are always happy to host these important trainings!

Join Us April 19th!

Each April, CAC of the Bluegrass honors Child Abuse Prevention Month with a Pinwheel Planting at the Center. The pinwheel is the national symbol of child abuse prevention, as it connotes playfulness, joy, and the types of happy, healthy childhoods all children deserve. We hope you will join us and over 100 community leaders, supporters, and partners at this year's Pinwheel Planting.

Save-the-Date: An Evening For the Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass!

Mark your calendars NOW for the CAC of the Bluegrass's annual gala!! We are making plans for a great celebration of 30 years of hope and healing in Central Kentucky. Please plan to join us on Friday, August 23rd at Marriott Griffin Gate Resort and Spa in Lexington!
