Mental health support is a critical step on the healing journey for many children and teens following sexual abuse. That's why CAC of the Bluegrass provides free therapy and counseling for children and families throughout Central Kentucky.
Thanks to financial support from Gray, Inc., the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels, the Kentucky Social Welfare Foundation, and a gift made by Guy Bradley in memory of Harriet Dupree Bradley, we have expanded our therapy suite to better meet the needs of our clients, as well as the growing demand for therapy services.
With our new space, we aim to create a more inviting and child-friendly atmosphere for our therapy clients. Previously, our therapy suite was located in a small room on the second floor of the Center, which created accessibility challenges. Now, our therapy suite includes a comfortable waiting area, a larger therapy room that allows caregivers to participate in therapy sessions, and a location that includes a ramped entrance.
We are looking forward to the growth of this program, and appreciate the support from those who made this possible!
