Join Us on April 19th!

The Center's annual "Pinwheels for Prevention" Pinwheel Planting, in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, is officially one month away! Mark your calendars for April 19th at 10:30 AM here at our Center. Joining with our partner agencies and local community and business leaders, we will plant 1,000 pinwheels to represent the 1,000+ children we will serve in 2024. Coffee and donuts will be provided, and the Center will be open for tours following the planting.

This year we are also celebrating our 30th anniversary of service to the Central Kentucky community, and will be recognizing individuals at our planting who have made an impact on our organization throughout the years.

The pinwheel is the national symbol for child abuse prevention, as the pinwheel connotes playfulness, joy, and childhood, and is a physical representation of the great childhoods we want for all children in the communities we serve.

Paul Hogan Named "Legendary Partner"

Earlier this month, Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass was able to honor our nominee, Sergeant Paul Hogan, at the Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky Legendary Partners Ceremony, sponsored by Churchill Downs.

As a former member of the Crimes Against Children Unit with the Lexington Police Department, Sergeant Hogan exemplified teamwork and humble dedication through ensuring justice for children, and being an active member within our Multi-Disciplinary Team. In 2023, Sergeant Hogan saw an unusually high number of complex cases, but continued to go above and beyond. He is skilled in talking with children and families, as he builds children up to feel brave and supported.

He is more than deserving of this year's Legendary Partners award. Congratulations, Sergeant Hogan!

CAC of the Bluegrass Executive Director Winn Stephens emceed the event, with Attorney General Russell Coleman presenting the awards. We are so appreciative of the commitment our partners at both the local and state level have to serving the needs of children.
