"Pinwheels for Prevention" Was a Success!

The Center's annual "Pinwheels for Prevention" Pinwheel Planting, in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, was held on April 17th at our Center. Remarks were given by Republic Bank representative Emily Miller, Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton, Kentucky's Attorney General Daniel Cameron, and CAC of the Bluegrass Executive Director Winn Stephens. Our Center's front lawn is now filled with 1,100 pinwheels to represent the 1,100 children we will serve in 2023.

The pinwheel is the national symbol for child abuse prevention, as the pinwheel connotes playfulness, joy, and childhood, and is a physical representation of the great childhoods we want for all children in the communities we serve.

It was our biggest turnout yet with attendance from community partners such as the Lexington Police Department, Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Fayette Commonwealth Attorney's Office, Fayette County Attorney's Office, Kentucky Attorney General's Office, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, and more! Thank you Republic Bank for sponsoring, and thank you to everyone who attended to help us prevent child abuse in Central Kentucky.

Get Involved and Plant a Virtual Pinwheel!

To support our healing services for child victims of sexual abuse, we are asking you to make a tax-deductible gift in the form of a virtual pinwheel. Each donation will be recognized in our "Virtual Pinwheel Garden" which can be found here. Help us fill our garden by giving online at this link, scanning the QR code on the image above, or mailing a donation to our Center at 162 N Ashland Ave., Lexington, KY 40502. By donating you are providing hope for a better future for children and families in Central Kentucky.

The Center is Ready for Spring

Thanks to Gray Construction

On Friday, April 8th a group of 15 people from Gray Construction stopped by to help us with some much needed outdoor projects! They cleaned up our yard, mulched and planted flowers, and repaired and painted our porch railings among other things. It is important to our organization to have a Center that feels nice, friendly, and comfortable for the children and families we serve. Thank you Gray Construction for making our Center beautiful for our clients and staff!
