Thank you Kentucky Bar Foundation

On May 20th, Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass participated in the Kentucky Bar Foundation Luncheon in Covington, KY, where we were presented with a grant award that will help expand our training opportunities throughout our service region.

In 2022 and 2023, thanks to support from the Kentucky Bar Foundation, CAC of the Bluegrass launched our "Minimal Facts Interviewing and First Responder Contact" training program to over 15 agencies (including over 150 individuals). We are excited to now offer these trainings to more agencies throughout our service region, while also developing and launching new discipline-specific trainings for community partners.

The mission of the Kentucky Bar Foundation is to further the public's understanding of the judicial system and the legal profession through programs and philanthropic partnerships that help those in need. We are grateful for the impact that they are making throughout our state!

Spot The Signs of Abuse

Summer break is upon us, which means kids will be at new camps and in new environments. This is a great time to familiarize yourself with common signs of child abuse. If you suspect abuse, please call the child abuse hotline immediately: 1-877-597-2331.

10 Years of Dedication to CAC of the Bluegrass

Two very important members of the CAC Bluegrass team have recently celebrated their 10 year work anniversary!

Lindsey Burns joined the CAC of the Bluegrass staff in March of 2014 as a forensic interviewer. Since then, Lindsey has taken on the role of Lead Forensic Interviewer, as well as our Training Coordinator. Lindsey cares deeply about the children and families we serve, and goes above and beyond to give children a voice to tell their story.

Winn Stephens joined the CAC of the Bluegrass staff in April of 2014 as the Development Director, and transitioned into the role of Executive Director in December of 2015. Winn has led CAC of the Bluegrass through many changes and challenges, all while putting the needs of the children and families we serve first.

Our organization would not be the same without the knowledge, compassion, and dedication of both Lindsey and Winn. Thank you both for your 10 years of service!
