Human Trafficking Awareness Month

In recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month in January, CAC of the Bluegrass team members participated in a Human Trafficking Awareness Training hosted by the Frankfort Police Department. At this training, Lead Forensic Interviewer and Training Coordinator, Lindsey Burns, led a session on systematic responses to child sexual abuse closures.

Human Trafficking is the exploitation of another individual for labor and/or sex through the use of fraud, force, or coercion. We can all do our part in ending human trafficking by educating ourselves on potential risk factors for abuse. To learn more, visit this link.

A Visit From UK College of Medicine Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

On February 12th, members of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department visited the Center for a tour and presentation on CAC services.

Members of the CAC of the Bluegrass therapy and medical teams were able to provide an in depth look at how our Center helps address the mental health needs of the children and families we serve.

We rely on our partnerships with providers throughout our service area, and appreciate their desire to learn more!

Join Us April 25th!

Each April, CAC of the Bluegrass honors Child Abuse Prevention Month by hosting our "Pinwheels for Prevention" pinwheel planting, sponsored by Republic Bank. The pinwheel is the national symbol of child abuse prevention, as it connotes playfulness, joy, and the types of happy, healthy childhoods all children deserve. We hope you will join us and over 100 community leaders, supporters, and partners as we plant 1,200 pinwheels in the Center's lawn to represent the 1,200 children and families that will receive services at CAC of the Bluegrass in 2025.
