New Year, New Possibilities

Despite the many challenges we all faced in 2020, we are pleased to share that our holiday programs were more robust than ever this year. Our generous community of donors, some that have been involved for years, and many new, exceeded all expectations for the 2020 giving season. When we started our discussion and planning in September, we really had no idea what to expect because, well, 2020 has been anything but predictable. We are grateful and very thankful for the support that allowed us to make the holidays brighter for so many children and families.

With the holidays behind us, we are ready to focus on a new year, and who isn't ready to bid 2020 farewell? Rather than focusing on lots of resolutions, that many times last only a few weeks, this just might be the year to consider one or two small and attainable goals to help build feelings of confidence and pride. We all experienced pains this last year, 2020 was rough, so proceeding cautiously, without a lot of pressure on ourselves to set and meet big goals, feels right.

From the entire Children's Cabinet Staff and Board of Trustees, we thank you for the ways you support children and families and wish you all a Happy New Year! Here is to a 2021 that is filled with an abundance of hope, good health, happiness, and peace.

Licensed Provider Supply Kits

Through a generous grant from the City of Reno, The Children's Cabinet is honored to provide licensed child care programs with COVID supply kits. This grant was funded by the federal CARES Act and The Children's Cabinet received $264,000 to provide PPE for 66 licensed child care centers and 65 licensed family child care providers. Together these centers and providers have a combined capacity to care for 6,232 children!

These kits are designed to support licensed child care providers as we work together to keep provider staff, children and families healthy. These items can be expensive and difficult to find.
Are you looking for ways to give?

Are you looking to support The Children's Cabinet in 2021, but don't know where to start? Set up a monthly donation!

Predictable revenue, like a recurring donation, is so important. It helps us plan big, long-term programs so we can forecast where in the community we can help.

If you are interested in setting up a monthly recurring donation, let us know! Contact Kristin Loebbecke at: kloebbecke@childrenscabinet.org or 775-856-0103.

Or use our secure online donation form, button below. Simply click on the box that says "Monthly" (instead of "One-Time") for donation type to begin.

Program Spotlight: WashoeYouthBuild

Washoe YouthBuild is a leadership program with an emphasis on education and occupational skills training. Our goal is to provide youth the opportunity to obtain the skills necessary to personally transform through education, career training, community service, and leadership development.

In collaboration with TMCC, we develop an individualized educational plan that will work best for youth and encourage their success in the program as they achieve a high school diploma, work experience and more.

Our Mission
Since 1985, The Children's Cabinet's mission has been to keep children safe and families together by providing services and resources that address unmet needs through a unique and effective cooperative effort between the private sector and public agencies in Nevada.
