Dear Families,
As we step into October, our classrooms will be focusing on the theme “Me and You”. Children will have the chance to share about themselves, their families, and their friends. Teachers will be sending home their monthly newsletters through CareConnect with more details about classroom activities and ways you can join in at home. Throughout the month, we’ll also be exploring pumpkins in fun and creative ways, and each student will get to take a pumpkin home toward the end of the month.
🌎 Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill — Tuesday, October 15 at 10:00 AM
Each October, LEAP participates in the statewide Great ShakeOut to practice earthquake safety. During the drill, children and staff will practice how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On to stay safe during an earthquake. This helps ensure everyone knows what to do in the event of a real emergency.
Families can support this at home by talking with children about what to do during an earthquake, identifying safe spots to take cover, and making sure your family’s emergency contact information is up to date in CareConnect.
