Dear Families,

As we head into the holiday season, we’re embracing a magical Winter Wonderland theme throughout December. ❄️✨ Expect lots of festive activities, cozy fun, and plenty of ways to celebrate together. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the year, enjoy the warmth of our community, and make some wonderful memories.

📅 December 11 - Family Council Meeting: A friendly reminder to all families that we’ll be holding our Family Council meeting on December 11th.

❄️Winter Break Closure: Please note that the center will be closed from December 24 through January 2. We’ll welcome everyone back on January 5.

🎉 Heads-Up for January - Family Fiesta on January 8: Just letting families know that we’ll have our Family Fiesta right after we return from break.

⏰ Early Release Reminder: Every Thursday at 3:00 PM

📝 Important Reminder: Please utilize CareConnect as a tool to report absences. This way office staff and teaching team is being notified immediately.

Al acercarnos a las fiestas navideñas, nos sumergimos en un mágico ambiente invernal durante todo el mes de diciembre. ❄️✨ Les esperan muchas actividades festivas, momentos acogedores y muchas maneras de celebrar juntos. Es el momento perfecto para reflexionar sobre el año, disfrutar de la calidez de nuestra comunidad y crear recuerdos maravillosos.

📅 11 de diciembre - Reunión del Consejo Familiar: Les recordamos a todas las familias que celebraremos nuestra reunión del Consejo Familiar el 11 de diciembre.

❄️ Cierre por vacaciones de invierno: Tengan en cuenta que el centro permanecerá cerrado del 24 de diciembre al 2 de enero. Les daremos la bienvenida de nuevo el 5 de enero.

🎉 Aviso para enero - Fiesta Familiar el 8 de enero: Les informamos a las familias que celebraremos nuestra Fiesta Familiar justo después de regresar de las vacaciones.

Flu Season is Here

The flu, also called influenza, is a contagious respiratory illness caused by viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs. Flu symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, chills, nausea, runny or stuffy nose, and head and body aches. The flu spreads most between November and April: the time of year often called flu season.

Protect yourself and your loved ones this flu season with a flu vaccine. Vaccines help the body’s immune response against the flu virus. Stop by the Goleta Community Center on Thursday, December 11 to receive your free flu vaccine (shot). Hosted by Cottage Health, the Community Parish Nursing team will be offering free flu vaccines to individuals 18 and older between 1-3 pm and 6:30-8:30 pm.

Temporada de gripe

La gripe, también llamada influenza, es una enfermedad contagiosa que afecta la nariz, la garganta y los pulmones. Los síntomas pueden incluir fiebre, tos, dolor de garganta, cansancio, escalofríos, náusea, nariz tapada o con moqueo, y dolor de cabeza y cuerpo. La gripe se contagia más entre noviembre y abril; a ese periodo se le conoce como temporada de gripe.

Vacúnate para protegerte. La vacuna contra la gripe ayuda a que el sistema inmunológico se defienda mejor del virus. Pasa por el Goleta Community Center el jueves 11 de diciembre para recibir tu vacuna gratis. El evento, organizado por Cottage Health y el equipo de enfermeras comunitarias parroquiales, ofrecerá vacunas gratuitas para personas de 18 años o más en dos horarios: de 1:00 a 3:00 pm y de 6:30 a 8:30 pm.
