Spotlight Topic:

Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health: What is it and how do we support it?

with Monica Oxford, MSW, PhD

Join us for this not to be missed presentation! We will have time during the last portion of the meeting to share resources and provide updates.

Do you have an event or location information to share with parents/families?

Please submit your information to Bright By Text! To submit a request for a text message, please submit a request at least one week in advance. Messages are a maximum of 140 characters and will be sent in English and Spanish. Messages can be sent to specific age ranges from prenatal through age 8, and to specific zip codes in Skagit County. Complete the form HERE!

Newsletter Update!

Over the summer we examined the engagement with the Children's Council newsletters and decided to try something a bit different. Instead of providing links to community resources, we are going to provide short articles and/or graphics that could be included in your organization's newsletters or social media platforms, along with any Children's Council updates.

This is new so we are starting off small (vroom tips and developmental info) and are anxious for your feedback! After scrolling through, please let me know what you think! We are open to all ideas! Think it's terrible and want the old format back, let us know! Like this new one but would like to see more of something else, tell us! We want this to be useful!!

Send us an email with your thoughts!

Vroom Tips

Vroom believes all parents want what’s best for their children. So they joined with scientists, researchers, and parents to take the science out of the lab and put it in the hands of caregivers. Vroom provides science-based tips and tools to inspire families to turn shared, everyday moments into Brain Building Moments®. Parents can go to the Vroom website or download the app to get brain building messages sent directly to them based on their child's age! Visit vroom.org to get started.

Building Brains!

The five Brain Building Basics are the foundations for all Vroom Tips. This means parents already have all they need to create brain building moments!

Learn the Signs. Act Early.

As a parent, you already have what it takes to help your young child learn and grow. Watch your child’s amazing progress by tracking his or her developmental milestones —how they play, learn, speak, act, and move – and sharing that progress with your child’s doctor at every check-up.

Track your child’s milestones with CDC’s FREE Milestone Tracker app, now available for iOS and Android in both English and Spanish. Interactive checklists with photos and video examples of developmental milestones help you know what to look for in your child.
