The Lifeline program, funded by United Way, seeks to prevent deep end mental health and substance abuse issues among young adult’s ages 18 to 23 by providing individual and group services.
Connor's story: Now 19 years old, Connor survived a drive-by shooting at age 12. That day he lost his best friend. His family’s criminal history and involvement with substance abuse meant that Connor was considered an at-risk youth. Knowing the challenges he faced, he made the decision to separate himself from these stigmas and the peers preventing him from reaching for something higher in life. He enrolled in Dolphin Park High School and joined the Lifeline Program. Chris’s new outlook has resulted in a full scholarship at a private, out of state college!
