RECOGNIZING A HERO: For his actions in helping to capture a child kidnapping suspect, UCSF's Adam Walker was recognized by the San Francisco Police Department earlier this month.

In April, Walker, who is completing his residency at UCSF School of Dentistry, was walking with his family in the Castro District when a woman shouted that someone had grabbed her son. After the suspect set down the 2-year-old boy, he ran, and Walker gave chase, cornering him until police arrived.
