Happy New Year!

Every January some of us start making check lists or goals for the new year. I enjoy sitting down with my family and coming up with goals for each other and goals we will tackle together. Some years we are able to tackle most of the goals and others the goals roll onto the next year. I greatly encourage you to think of some goals that will challenge, strengthen, and improve your relationship with each other and with God.

A month ago a friend shared with me a podcast of the Presiding Bishop Michael Curry talking about the role of children and youth leaders and parents. Curry talks about how he sees children and youth in our churches and what our role as adults in the church is for them. I encourage all parents to listen to the November 27, 2018 episode of the podcast. The quote from Curry that has stuck with me is the role of the adults is to "show them Jesus." That is why the Faith Development team is here. We are here to show our infants to adults Jesus. We take great pride in being here for your whole family. Please know we are here every step of the way in 2019 to show you Jesus.

Children's Communion Classes
Sundays, January 27 - February 17, 9:30 AM, Graham Library
Contact Hedrick Lewis TODAY to register your child
Each year, Children's Ministries leads a communion class tailored toward helping children in grades 2 - 5 both understand and respond to the Eucharist. The class is designed for children who already receive, as well as those who will truly be participating in their first communion. The class will meet in Graham Library and coincide with our regular Sunday School time. The children will participate in a special service and brunch on February 24.

Sunday School for all ages resumes on Sunday, January 13.

This service is designed for children and families with special needs, but it is also a wonderful service for younger children.
