Hello families!

Last week, we had 30 kids,16 teens and 11 adults learning about how to be Menders of God's World during our Vacation Bible School week. We heard Bible stories each day that told how God and Jesus

Fed (Manna and Quail; Feeding the 5000),

Healed (the Bent over Woman; The Good Samaritan),

Forgave (the unforgiving servant; 7 x 70; Joseph forgiving his brothers), Prayed (Jesus teaching the disciples how to pray; The Lord's Prayer, and Rested (Creation and the 7th day of rest; sabbath)

and how each of these things helped to heal the people and creation. Then we thought about how we can follow in Jesus' footsteps to do the same today.

It was an amazing week with songs, games, art, drama, and science experiments to flush out the stories and themes even more. We also made lovey blankets with teddy bears for Threads and Praying Hands note holders for Covenant Community.

But most importantly, the kids created deeper relationships with each other, their counselors, and the adult volunteers as we explored what practicing our faith really means in our everyday life.

Thanks to all the volunteers, teens and adults - we couldn't have done this without you!

If you didn't get to come this year, make sure that you mark your calendars for the first full week of June next year. And check our our pictures coming soon to a new Children's Ministries Facebook page or go to my page.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer full of rest, relaxation, and recovery!
