Children's Ministries Update

Hello families,

I've missed you all!

After VBS, I travelled to Croatia with our Youth Pilgrimage for 10 days and 1 day in Germany (2 extra days due to plane issues). It was beautiful, hilly, ancient, and full of interesting sights. We walked as 'travelling monks' learning to pray, extend hospitality, stand up for justice, and more. Spending time talking about those saints that have gone before us, the sacrifices and perseverance they exemplified, and how we might walk in those footsteps today on our own journey was life-giving. I am honored to have listened to our youth as they shared their insights, to have grown myself from their sharing, and to have grown as a community. This opportunity for your own kids when they reach the 10th grade should not be missed - chance of a lifetime!

After Croatia, I started a month and 1/2 of sabbatical (the second half will be in February) in Maine followed by a trip to Durham England with St. Paul's Episcopal Church from Chattanooga as they were the choir in residence at the Durham Cathedral. I will share more with you later, but it was such a gift to set aside time for myself and my family, full of relaxing, playing, learning, and "being in awe" of the beauty in this world.

And now, we come back together as our church family, to walk in the way of love, to be in awe of God's lavish love for each and every one of us, and to spread that good news.

Back to the Block Party

August 18, after the 10:00 service

Join us as we gather back together again on the block for food, fellowship, and fun! Waterslide, bouncey house, dessert contest, games, and crafts. Wear your bathing suit under your shorts and T-shirt to church and then come to the playground. Can't wait to see you all!

Wednesday Nights @ All Saints

is back!

2nd fl Pritchett Center

Come to church for Choir Rehearsals, Art Room fun, playing in the Game Room and Courtyard with friends, finishing Homework in Homework room, wonderful adult classes, a great dinner and short Eucharist to refill your spiritual cup for the rest of the week! We hope to see you for any or all of these!

Children's and Youth Ministries Formation Open House

Sunday, Aug. 25, 11:05 (after 10:00 service)

The Attic (3rd fl of the Pritchett Center)

Join us to meet your teachers, hear our plans for the year, eat bagels and fruit, and reconnect with each other. Parents please bring your calendars so that you can sign up for 2 volunteer opportunities for the year. We need you and you get to work on those baptismal vows you said "Yes" to - to support and help raise these 'children' in this faith community. It is a solemn and binding agreement between us, our community, and God. It is a promise, a pledge, that we as individuals and as a community first affirm at our baptism, and then throughout our life of faith.
