Children's Ministries Update

Hello Families!

Wow! What a day we had at the Back to the Block party! Over 400 Saints were here having fun and catching up with each other. It seemed like 2019! The pandemic has shifted us into new ways of thinking and being, but it felt like we were finally coming back home to our faith community - and it was good!

I had 3 different conversations with folks that said roughly the same thing:

1) It was pretty nice for a while to have church in our pajamas while

drinking coffee on the sofa and watching the Live Stream.

2) And then, we realized we missed the community, we missed being

present with old friends and meeting new folks.

3) We are coming back, but be patient with us - it might take a minute

to get back into the routine.

And I get all of that! We love you and miss you and need you/your gifts/your presence back on campus - it is not the same without you. And Grace abounds for all of us! "Faith practices" or "Faith disciplines" are aptly named - you won't be perfect, you will be late, you will miss some Sundays, but you set the intention and then practice. Eventually it becomes a habit of the heart and mind again.

So don't feel like you have to apologize or explain why you haven't been here. You have always been here in our prayers and hearts. We are just so happy to have you back "in real life" or "in person" as the kids say. See you soon!

Pilgrimage Presentation

Join our high school pilgrims at 10:15 am in Ellis Hall as they share their experiences from their pilgrimage to Greece! Hear all about each location and the impact it had on their faith life moving forward. We will also be announcing our location for the High School Pilgrimage 2023

Nursery : We are back to Program year schedule. Nursery is open from 8:30am-12:30pm on the 1st floor of Pritchett Children's Center.

Children's : We start back up next week with Holy Eucharist

CHILDREN’S CHOIRS

begin this Wednesday, August 24

Calling all children to join the choir! Choirs for children in PreK - 6th grade rehearse on Wednesday afternoons and we begin this week.

Check the grade level and times and bring your children to join with others as we sing, ring, move, and have fun making music. Rehearsals take place on the 2nd floor of the Pritchett Center.

CHERUB PreK - K 4:00 - 4:30 (must be 4 yrs old by Sept 1)

PRIMARY 1st - 2nd 4:35 – 5:10

JUNIOR 3rd - 6th 5:15 – 6:00

JR HANDBELLS 4th - 6th 6:00 – 6:30

Moving Up Celebration

August 28th, 9:00am - Children's Chapel

Calling all Kindergartners and 1st Graders (they missed their Milestone Moment during the pandemic) who have graduated out of Little Saints up to the 2nd floor to Children's Ministries! We want to mark this Milestone Moment in your life with the presentation of a Blessing Bowl for you to gather all your blessings. You will also get an orientation to what happens in Children's Church. We will have Holy Eucharist, so the service will be from 9:00-10:00

Kindergarten and 1st Grade Parents please RSVP to Kathy Roberts if you will attend with your child.

Formation Open House

August 28th, 10:15 - The Attic

We can't wait to start Formation and would like to tell you a little about our plans for the year. We will start off all together in The Attic with bagels and juice. Then we'll share dates, a little about our new Faith In Action days, Special Event days, and split the Children and Youth to go visit their rooms and teachers. Bring your phones and calendars to sign up to help make all this happen - we can't do it without you and you will be enriched in the process!
