Hello families!
I have to say "Wow, what a wonderful weekend" AGAIN!
We had a Teacher Training day on Saturday where we played games, learned about each other and our mission in Formation. Make sure that you thank these teachers for committing to be in relationship with your children throughout the year and to wonder with them about God.
Children's Church resumed with Holy Eucharist and for Kindergartners who just moved up to the 2nd floor Children's Ministries. Each received a Blessing Bowl and a blessing. More pics to follow next week.
During the Formation hour, we had an Open House to share WHY we do what we do in Formation, what our plans for the year are, and how families can come alongside their children on their spiritual journey.
We believe that we are called to enable, encourage, and celebrate with adults and children as we
- experience our baptism as a lifestyle rather than an event.
- share our faith journey with each other.
We also passed out Brochures with calendars and all kinds of information - make sure to grab one on the 2nd floor when you come to drop off or pick up kids.
This Sunday, we will make 700 sandwiches for The Sandwich Project which delivers food to agencies around town that support those in need of food. Ours will go to several places including the Boys and Girls Club on the West side of Atlanta and we will save here in our freezer to hand out from church.
This is a great weekend to bring neighbors or friends to share in this multigenerational service activity. Anyone who wants to help set up, just leave church after communion and head to Ellis to help. We all help in the clean-up and it is an amazing machine we have created!
Formation begins on the 10th. Children's Church is back and we will join you at the Peace this Sunday.
Peace,
Kathy
