Dear Families,

Wow what a week! I have felt immense gratitude and privilege to be in this community of faith and to get to work here at this church.

We had funerals celebrating three Saints' lives and we stood together as faithful witnesses to our foundational belief in the resurrection and our promised rise to glory with our God.

Folks from all different eras of our church were back "home" to help each along this journey from cradle to grave. Tales were told, tears and laughter were shared, and a hug or handshake given in acknowledgement of our shared spiritual roots. It was fantastic. It was deeply moving. It gave me hope.

Harry and Allison brought me and Benno here in 1991 to do Youth and College Ministry. I was 28 and Allison pulled me aside and said, "You be just who you are. If you want to walk barefoot down the aisle, then you do it. You are Kathy Pattison, who happens to be married to a priest here." This gave me the much needed encouragement I needed to step into my own ministry in my own way. And they continued to help us grow up in life and ministry here. They were true pastors and true light-bearers. I am so thankful for their presence in my life.

And now I am with other members of my All Saints' family - the Church Ladies! We have been going away together for over 28 years, telling tales, sharing tears and laughter and sharing hugs in acknowledgement of our shared sisterhood. And so, the roots of All Saints' relationships grow and spread just like our sacred Magnolia, deeper and wider, just as they always have.

Join us in Ellis Hall for the Children's Choir's musical, The Lost Boy, based on Luke 2:39-52. We will hear the story of Mary and Joseph searching for 12-year-old Jesus, only to find him in the temple, full of wisdom and understanding, With its heartfelt message, the musical reminds us that even a perfect child can give his parents anxiety and offers reassurance to anyone who has ever been a parent, a child. or sought to reconnect with their faith. Don't miss this inspiring performance for the whole parish family.
