Baptism Sunday and TopsyTurvy Wednesday

Hello families,

Last Sunday was Baptism Sunday with 4 babies at the 9:00 service and 2 more at the 11:15 service. So we dragged our baptism shell out, prayed for the babies being baptized (kids:"that God will keep them safe", "that they will know to come to church", "that God will love them and they will love God"), talked about our own 'priesthood', and then blessed each other with water and the sign of the cross on our foreheads.

Take a minute this week to share the story of your child's baptism with them. Who was there, how did it feel, what did their Godparents say, did they cry :), maybe even make a pact to celebrate their baptism day each year going forward.

We also had Topsy Turvy day on Wednesday night as we talked about the way Jesus turns our world upside down - the long awaited King who arrives as a baby, the Messiah who comes to Bethlehem on a donkey on Palm Sunday, the last shall be first, the Son of God washing the feet of his disciples, etc.

This Sunday, don't miss out on Harry Potter night! It is one of the most fun nights of the year. Trunk or Treat starts at 4:00, Children's Choirs will sing their Lumos program at 4:40, then we will enter Hogwarts aka Ellis Hall via the 9 3/4 platform for a short service and dinner - Goblin Fingers, Prof. Sprouts Garden, Snape's Stew (chili), Butter Beer and Polyjuice Potion and much more! And if you want to stay for the movie, we will be watching the first one, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

It doesn't matter what age you are, this is a night to enjoy with friends. In fact, bring a friend with you and share this wonderful community of faith with them.

It's Ba ack! Harry Potter night with all the magic! Start off with Trunk or Treat with Harry Potter characters at each trunk - don't forget your treat bag and costumes for the whole family! Next we will hear our wonderful Children's Choirs sing from the steps in the courtyard. Then we journey in through the

9 3/4 Platform to get to the Hogwarts Dining Hall. Stop on the way for a photo op. Pick a seat at the house tables where we will enjoy a Eucharist set to Harry Potter theme music with our very own 'Harry' celebrating the service. Then we get to enjoy a meal and the first movie in the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Stay as long as you like.

**If you bring a friend, you will get a 'Ghost Host with the Most' surprise!**
