Takeaway's from Bishop-Elect Amy Dafler Meaux

This parish, especially Fr. John, is going through a great deal. Bishop-Elect Amy Dafler Meaux attended St. Andrew's on Sunday, February 23rd, attending both services. She also led a Q&A session from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. in the Jewell Room, specifically focused on how we can offer meaningful care to Fr. John as he returns to work and continues to grieve.

If you were unable to attend here are some of the things that I found the most helpful from her time speaking.

There has been a great deal of confusion surrounding how to best support Fr. John during this process, as I'm sure it's hard for all of us to imagine him any other way than our rock at St. Andrew's. We were reminded that Fr. John has many close friends and family who surround him with love and support daily during this time of unrest. We were encouraged and reminded that we have close circles as well that may need support during these times, and we should focus on those around us so that we can best be there for Fr. John in his time of need.

We were reminded that even if you did not know Ann Spicer personally, it still may bring up feelings of anxiety or uncertainty. She urges us not to feel guilty that we are having feelings of sadness. This is just empathy, and the fact that we care so deeply only means that we can better help those who did know her personally by remaining steadfast and bringing strength and faith to those like Mtr. Jean, Decan Adam, Mtr. Rita, and all those who have been keeping this parish running in Fr. John's absence.

Please keep Fr. John, his children, and all those family members and friends who are grieving during this time in your prayers. Let us remember Bishop-Elect Amy's words going into Lent.

Rooted & Growing: A Lenten Journey for Families

at HJ’s from 9:15 am-10 am

Starting March 9th, families are invited to join us on Sunday mornings during Lent for a new series. Childcare will be available for all ages in the Nursery, where kids will learn about Lent and create themed crafts.

Together, we’ll explore who we are and who we are becoming. Parents will engage in meaningful conversations guided by the St. Andrew’s Lenten devotional, while preschool and elementary-aged kids bring the theme to life through hands-on activities.

It’s a chance to pause, connect, and grow in faith as a family. Join us on this journey!

— March's Sunday School Adventure —

For Lent this year, our whole focus is finding yourself in Christ. "Who am I?" At this age, self-discovery is such a large part of a child's life; finding where they see themselves in the stories we hear each week and finding where Christ fits into their everyday lives can make a large impact.

Each week you will get a Lenten parent page that will include a video or activity you can watch with your child at home to help strengthen their faith, further their connection to Lent, and help them understand why we practice it.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Many of you know that serving in our sunday school classrooms is a blast, but did you know you can serve in the Nursery as well?

It can be as simple as signing up just once a quarter to help, so ask your friends, family, and neighbors to see if they're interested in helping out in the St. Andrew's nursery.

Our nursery offers two spaces for our infants and toddlers.

Infant: 3 weeks - 6 months

The infant room is a quieter, more peaceful place to play and rest. We have cribs, bouncy chairs, soft toys, and a colorful rug for tummy time.

Nursery: 6 months - 3 y/o

The toddler room is full of fun experiences and discoveries. Kids can play alone with toys, engage in imaginative play with others, work on a craft, or puzzle, and have a snack.

Transition Classroom

Sundays at the 10:15 am Service (Green Door)

Each week, we will be offering the opportunity for your 3-year-old to join the first half of the preschool-1st grade class. This will provide an opportunity for those who are outgrowing the nursery to interact with some older kids and see what their class will look like in the fall. After some songs and a lesson, the 3-year-olds will make their way back to the nursery for pick-up.

We can't wait to see what this year has in store!

Faith At Home—

Crafts, Songs, and Stories are specialized for your Lenten journey.

This year, we are dedicated to delivering a weekly parent page so that you can stay current on what your child is learning in Sunday school. This also provides opportunities to discuss faith outside of church. We hope that you enjoy it.

These parent pages are found next to the sign-in sheets every Sunday morning.
