5 Questions to Ask
Your Kids Today
In an effort to strengthen our bonds, let’s take a look at five questions we can ask that might just break through the distracted exterior and help us to get to the heart of the matter: helping our kids to feel seen and loved exactly as they are.

April 10 is Palm Sunday, and we are asking for all children walking age and up to participate in the Palm Processionals. Young children rely on older children to model how to wave palms & to know where to walk; so it’s important for all ages to be represented. This year, the children will participate in both palm processionals at 10:45 AM & 11 AM. Children should meet in Grand Hall at 10:40 AM to receive palms.
Before dropping off your child for the processional, please show your child where you will be sitting so that they can reunite with you following the processional. Children’s Ministry staff will bring all of the children to rear of the Fellowship Hall for a processional at 10:45 AM. After they walk through the aisles, they will all exit to process into the 11 AM service.
At the end of this processional, children ages Pre-K-first grade who are checked-in for Children’s Church will be brought up to 223/Assembly Room for Children’s Church. The remaining children will go to sit with their families in Traditional Worship and be brought back to Modern Worship to worship with their families. We are looking forward to celebrating this beautiful liturgical tradition!

Oak Grove is raising awareness and support for the needs of children and families that Wellroot serves—offering more children, young adults, and families the benefits of a healthy, stable, and safe home. Oak Grove has three teams. Two of our teams, Oak Grove Youth and Oak Grove Children are challenging each other to see whose team will have the most members by Saturday, April 30. The third team, Oak Grove Strong, is for everyone else. Our teams will walk/run virtually. For 6-weeks leading up to the event, you will receive a newsletter with information about child welfare & family preservation, devotionals for adults and children, fun challenges, and a walking/running program. To officially join, visit wellroot5k.org and find our team under “Team Leaderboard.” Complete the form, pay a registration fee of $25, and click “Confirm & Sign Me Up”. Register by April 1 to receive your shirt prior to race day.

Throughout the year, we will highlight a new title in each e-news. Come visit the library any day of the week and check out one of these new books! We will be incorporating them into our monthly Book Buddies time too.
The featured book for this edition is The Marvelous Mustard Seed written by Amy Jill Levine & Sandy Eisenberg Sasso and illustrated by Margaux Meganck. The story shows how something small has so much potential to become a great and inspiring.

A child plants a mustard seed in an empty garden. It is an itty-bitty seed. It isn’t anything very special—yet.
