Children's Ministry Mission: raise more money than youth! (AND support the needs and ministries of WellRoot Family Services in The Mustard Seed 1K): Oak Grove is raising awareness and support for the needs of children and families that Wellroot serves—offering more children, young adults, and families the benefits of a healthy, stable, and safe home. Oak Grove has three teams. Two of our teams, Oak Grove Youth and Oak Grove Children are challenging each other to see whose team will have the most members by Saturday, April 30. The third team, Oak Grove Strong, is for everyone else. Our teams will walk/run virtually. For 6-weeks leading up to the event, you will receive a newsletter with information about child welfare & family preservation, devotionals for adults and children, fun challenges, and a walking/running program. To officially join, visit wellroot5k.org and find our team under “Team Leaderboard.” Complete the form, pay a registration fee of $25, and click “Confirm & Sign Me Up”. Register by April 1 to receive your shirt prior to race day.

Throughout the year, we will highlight a new title in each e-news. Come visit the library any day of the week and check out one of these new books! We will be incorporating them into our monthly Book Buddies time too.

Our featured book is Maybe God Is Like That Too written by Jennifer Grant and illustrated by Benjamin Schipper. It tells the story of how a young boy comes to understand what God is like through the people in his neighborhood. “Grandma, does God live in the city?” I ask one morning at breakfast. “Yes, God is here,” she says, “You just need to know where to look.”

Join the Children's Ministry staff! We are now hiring a Nursery Coordinator. We offer deep gratitude to Claire Metzloff for her excellent work as the Children’s Ministry Nursery Coordinator and wish her well in her new role as MOPS Nursery Coordinator. This role entails about ten hours/week of scheduling & coordinating nurseries for Sunday morning & other church events, welcoming new families into the nursery, maintaining an appropriate environment for its children, and supervising & training nursery staff.
