A Very Big Fall by Emmy Kastner
This is the perfect time of year—autumn in New England. It is a truly lovely season, especially when the trees change their colors. The story is about three types of trees. Birch, Oak and Maple who are ready to change their leaf colors as the weather turns cooler.
I love this book for its brightly charming illustrations and its funny characters. It's a beautiful written story for children between ages 2 to 5 who are curious about why leaves change color.
Let's go outside to embrace the different kinds of leaves, enjoy apple picking and make a pie for a very big fall!

Leo's First Vote! by Christina Soontornvat
This is probably the best voting story I have ever read - but it's written by Christina Soontornvat, so I'm not surprised (she's a favorite!). Smoothly within the story, readers learn why votes matter, who can vote, and how to vote - including details like you need to be registered, and what to do if you're in line when the polls close. Definitely a timely and important read.

Holiday Shopping in the Friends' Bookstore
There’s a chill in the air and the leaves are falling, so sometime in the next few weeks, we’ll be stocking the Friends bookstore with holiday items. You’ll find a new holiday cart in the store, and look for additional items on the shelves.
We won’t be able to have our fall book sale this year because of the construction, but we’re keeping the store well stocked, and we appreciate your ongoing support through your store purchases and Friends memberships. Happy fall!
