Reopening July 6: Children's
Tips
The library building will be
reopeningnext week with COVID-19 safety measures in place and mandated space capacity limits. Patrons and staff will be following
CDCguidelines and
IDHP guidelines for children; visitors must wear masks and observe social distancing, keeping 6 feet apart from others while in the building.
Look for our sign in the Children's department advising kids to stay six dancing penguins apart!
The space capacity limits may mean that at peak times when the Children's floor or the library building reach mandated limits we will ask visitors to return at a later time.
Let your child know that on some busy days families will "take turns" visiting the library.
We've cleared out all the seating and interactive toys from the Children's Department. We have packed the shelves and display areas with books and hope that your family can enjoy finding a great selection of books, that you can check out at a self-checkout station or at the Circulation Desk.
Chat with your child ahead of your visit to let them know some things have changed at the library but their favorite book characters, topics and stories are waiting for them.
Now and continuing past July 6,
Curbside Pickup service and the Kids
Book Bundleswill continue to be offered, so you have the option of a contactless process to get your materials.
Virtual storytimes will also continue, consider watching your favorite librarians on Youtube if your child is missing storytime.
Our staff is ready to greet you and offer our friendly support if you choose to visit us in the coming weeks - we miss you; our priority remains keeping everyone safe and we appreciate your support of our careful reopening.
Mark your calendar for storytime premiers with our Woodridge librarians every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., or visit our YouTube channel for storytimes, anytime.
Along with our local schools, we recommend reading twenty minutes a day -- and don't forget to have fun with math!
