Board Adopts Resolution Approving City of Fountain Valley to Join OCPA

We are thrilled to take a big step forward in welcoming the City of Fountain Valley as our newest member community! In November, Orange County Power Authority’s (OCPA) Board of Directors adopted a resolution approving Fountain Valley’s membership, which now goes to the California Public Utilities Commission for final approval. We are excited about expanding access to affordable clean power in Orange County!

OCPA Named a Top Green Power Provider in the U.S.

OCPA has been recognized by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as one of the top clean power providers in the country. We are now #2 in green power sales! On top of that, our most recent Power Content Label—the annual disclosure of electricity generation sources required and verified by the California Energy Commission—shows OCPA successfully delivered renewable energy from 81% carbon-free resources, well above the state requirement. This means fewer heat-trapping carbon emissions and a better quality of life for our customers.

New Team Members Bring Decades of Energy Experience

Three new staff members, who collectively bring five decades of energy industry expertise, have joined the OCPA team. Since launching, OCPA has built a roster of 20 full-time employees, strengthening our ability to lead Orange County in the transition to clean energy. Our newest staff will bolster our finance team and oversee the development of energy programs that are tailored to meet diverse community needs. Helping us better serve you, our customers!

The new OCPA Incentive Finder is a one-stop shop to find all local, state, and federal rebates and savings available to Orange County residents, helping you reduce energy use and save money. OCPA is one of just three community energy providers in California to offer this free tool that will be refreshed monthly with new offerings on appliances, electric vehicles, solar panels, and other eco-friendly upgrades! Income-qualified households may also be eligible for increased incentives, helping make energy efficiency more affordable.
