Here comes July! We have too much going on to have any “lazy, hazy, days of summer.” We have determined that replacing our organ is the only smart way to go. The search for a new director for the Day School has begun. Several projects for beautifying the building and campus are hitting decision points. Lissie and I are working on Summer Wednesday plans. And lots of other stuff is in the works! Needless to say, in addition to all the normal stuff, we are not bored.
We still need one or two houses to host counselors for Chanco. We have four and are trying to assure we have enough to handle all who wish to come. If you can host 2 or 3 counselors from Friday evening, July 15 through early Sunday July 17, let me know. They will want to run a load of laundry. We will provide a group day for them at the beach on Saturday with a meal to end. So you will have Friday supper and breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday. Some of the counselors are from Poland, South Africa, Istanbul and other interesting locations, so I am sure it will be a blessing to have them in your home.
Sunday, Lissie+ is preaching at all services. The long-term weather forecast is “iffy” so the 10:00 service might be in the Great Hall. Watch for announcements.
We are continuing to grow with plenty of new people. GREAT. Now, we need to restore our wonderful practice of wearing name tags all the time. If you don't come with one, you will be able to grab a temp one at check-in. Please help us all get to know everyone more easily and effectively. It helps us become a better community of Christ-followers.
Our two beautiful granddaughters returned to Alabama this morning, so Chris and I are in mourning. But we give thanks for a wonderful three weeks that went by too fast. I know many of you are looking forward to vacations and family gatherings. Be safe, enjoy, and be faithful wherever you go!
Peace and blessings,
Bob+
