Summertime and the livin’ is easy! (Push, push, rest?) Last Sunday’s sermon recognized the (my) tendency to push ahead without breaks. There is always something else of high importance to accomplish. God’s plan for living is different. From the first chapter all the way through God’s Word, we hear the pattern of rest, praise God and be grateful for God’s blessings interspersed throughout a week and all life. I encourage you to follow that routine of push, push, rest...taking breaks with family and friends and ENJOYING the life God is providing.
This Sunday we will have a tremendous blessing! It is Youth Sunday and a Senior Sermon. At 10:00 and the 11:30 streamed service, our preacher will be Ginny Burt. She was not yet 2 years old when I arrived and now she is graduating high school and heading to college (University of South Carolina). She’s always had one of the best smiles and I look forward to hearing her witness to God’s blessings in her life.
It looks like we will have perfect weather — clear skies and cooler temps, probably in the high 70’s during worship time. So make your reservation and join us to give thanks to God.
Paws, Prayers & Praise is BACK this Sunday at 5:00pm. See below!
Men’s breakfast is BACK! Starting next Wednesday at 8:00am, Men’s Breakfast is meeting in-person weekly in the new back wing. We will supply coffee but are restoring in steps, so bring your own food for an hour of conversation and fellowship. All men are invited and welcome. The group has been meeting almost 40 years and there is plenty of room for you. Just show up.
A planned Movie Night from Parish life is getting rained out so don’t show up this Friday night.
Pray for our children and youth as they finish out this challenging year over the next 9 days.
