Trinity Sunday
The Spirit is alive and moving! We had almost 250 of us in-person Sunday for Pentecost, another 16 youth for movie night, and many more online for the virtual service. Our first Sunday with fewer restrictions, open capacity, and more steps toward normalcy was well received. With two baptisms and a Genevieve Nelson appearance, it was a glorious day for the Holy Spirit in action.
This Sunday is Trinity Sunday and Memorial Day weekend. Currently the weather looks rainy, so watch for announcements about having to move inside for 10:00am. Our Historic Traditions group has placards about deceased military veterans from ODEC that will be on display. Fred, Ashley, and I are planning a conversational sermon regarding the Holy Trinity. We will have special prayers for those who have sacrificed, even their lives, in support of our nation and common life.
Old Donation has for many years been a “Pearl Faith” congregation, participating with the Chesapeake Bay and Lynnhaven River Now organizations to do environmental recovery work. This next week is the annual “Clean the Bay” effort. We’ve registered a clean-up team for picking up litter. We will have a team of workers out from 9:00 until noon next Monday morning (May 31), location to be announced. This is for youth and for families and for everyone to come and join ODEC to make a difference! Watch for more details on Saturday for where exactly to meet. But please reserve a couple hours for Monday morning before the BBQ grill gets going! You will feel so much better eating, knowing you’ve already made the world a better place.
Keep the faith, but don’t keep it to yourself!

I'd Like a Name Tag!
Send an email to Gretchen with your name(s). The cost is $8.70/each. You can send a check in the mail, or bring it on Sunday. We will notify you when your name tag is ready.

Clean the Bay Day
Memorial Day morning we will participate in the Lynnhaven River Now Clean the Bay effort. Please email us if you plan to attend! More info (time & location!) will be forthcoming.
