Greetings!
As August 1st approaches, Old Donation is constantly on my mind. As you might guess, at this point in my life I hadn’t quite expected to be “unretired,” so I come to you with a mixture of excitement for the work we will do together, as well as a bit of trepidation for the adjustments to be made. But what I know for sure is this: Old Donation is a community that—with or without a rector—is strong in faith, full of hope, and brimming in love. So hold onto that! For it is life in community that saves us, shapes us, and challenges us: it grounds us in love and helps us learn to see Christ in each other. Therefore, whether Old Donation has been your community for 40 years or 40 days, it is your place—your place to learn, pray, love, serve, and grow. Your place to care for, heal, and strengthen. And your place to be a part of whatever comes next, so let’s work together to make it one of hope and possibility! Therefore, I’ll look forward to beginning our time together at the services this Sunday, August 2nd, ready to worship, pray, and sing to the God who loves and cherishes us all.
Faithfully yours,
Mimi+
