Second Sunday of Easter

27 April 2025

Dear Old Donation friends and family,

WOW. Holy Week and Easter Day were filled with wonderful worship and beautiful pageantry. We traveled the Triduum days...from Stations of the Cross to Maundy Thursday worship with stripping the altar and hearing the haunting "Were you there" in Meredith's beautiful voice, moving to Good Friday liturgy. For our Easter Vigil we welcomed our friends from St. Aidan's again, and experienced moving from darkness to the light of Easter, including a baptism. Easter Day brought a bright morning for the Day of Resurrection and worship could not have been better. We filled our Church and Great Hall, and had perfect weather for our Easter Egg hunt.

There is not enough space to thank everyone who had a hand in making everything happen for Holy Week and Easter, but let me mention: Altar Guild, Flower Guild, Buildings & Grounds, Matthew and Bruce, Janet for her bulletin organization, the Gathering Band, our St. Cecilia Choir, Random Acts band, ushers, vergers, lectors, lay Eucharistic ministers, stream team, and for our clergy and their messages full of faith and hope in the resurrection: SuzeAnne+, Fred+ and Rick+. (please forgive me for anyone I forgot!) We are ODEC!

Be sure to join us tonight at 6:00pm in our Great Hall for a special showing of the movie "Loving" with lasagna dinner and discussion. This will be worth your while!

Alleluia! Christ is risen! The Lord is risen, indeed! Alleluia!
