"In my Father's house there are many dwelling places." These words from John's Gospel this coming Sunday feel especially alive in the wake of last weekend's Ministry Fair! Table after table buzzed with conversation, curiosity, and connection as members of our community discovered new ways to put their gifts to work. It was a beautiful reminder that in this house, too, there is room for everyone, and that the body of Christ is most alive when every part of it is engaged.
And the good news is: there is still room! If you felt a pull toward something at the fair but didn't quite make it to the sign-up sheet, now is the time. For example, we are actively looking for new ushers to join that welcoming ministry (see link/details below). This Friday, 1 May at 6:00pm, our Old Donation Episcopal Day School is hosting a Parents' Night Out with wine, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, and raffle prizes, all in support of our Julia Tucker Scholarship. Tickets are $20 each and will be available on flyers in the church lobby.
Finally, one need is urgent and we do not want to bury it at the bottom of a list: Vacation Bible School needs a co-director. Bethanny, our Youth Minister, has been clear that without one secured soon, we may have to cancel VBS this year. We also need volunteers willing to discern a teaching or mentoring role with our youth across age groups. This is critical for our youth and young adult formation. If any of this is stirring something in you, please reach out to Bethanny directly. There is a dwelling place here for your gifts. Let your gifts come alive here at Old Donation!
