"Gracious Father, we give you thanks..." and on my list of thanksgivings you sit near the top! Reflecting upon the blessings of our lives is a healthy spiritual exercise. In the best of times and even in the darkest of times there are blessings to be found that help us remember God's goodness and divine intention for us for abundant living.
Last night 18 of us joined in the ecumenical Thanksgiving worship and tomorrow Ashley+ will be preaching at 10:00 for our Eucharist.
Sunday is the beginning of Advent. I will preach at 8:00, the Gathering and 5:00. At 10:30, we will have Advent Lessons and Carols with Holy Communion (no sermon). This beautiful liturgy with traditional Advent hymns is a wonderful beginning for this season of preparation. No Sunday School as we will have Advent Wreath materials and devotional pamphlets available at 9:30 and after the 10:30 services.
We are now a little behind with people turning in pledges for 2020. Please help us either Sunday or online. The vestry will be working on the budget this month and your guidance is critical.
Be sure to read the Bell Ringer that came out yesterday. Put Sunday, Dec 8 on your calendars for the several big events happening that day... John the Baptist "coat day," groundbreaking for our new addition, St. Nicholas visiting, and the first day for our new deacon, the Rev. Genevieve Nelson are all happening then!
Enjoy a good feast tomorrow and all weekend and give thanks to God who is the source of every good gift. I will see you soon!
