Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge
Refuge hours 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Herbert H. Bateman Center CLOSED.
Updates will be posted to the refuge website and social media channels.
**Notice** The second stage of the replacement project for our old water control structures starts soon. This includes two sites on the Wildlife Loop. As such, the partial closure of the Wildlife Loop is expected to continue through April. During this time the Wildlife Loop will be partially open to walking and bicycle, but closed to vehicles. Black Duck Trail is closed at Beach Road. There may be temporary closures on the Service Road.

**All CCA activities and events will be cancelled until May 2nd as precautionary actions due to the Coronavirus.

2020 Photo Contest - This year's theme is Four Seasons on Two Islands. Submit photos in 4 categories of Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall. Plus a 5th category which can be something you love about Chincoteague or Assateague Island. 1st prize in each category is $75. Deadline to submit entries is May 15th. Photos much have been taken between January 1, 2019 and May 15, 2020 on Chincoteague, Assateague, or the surrounding waters. Visit

Chincoteague Island Library
All programs and activities previously announced and planned at the library have been cancelled until further notice.
*The Little Free Library on the corner of Main & Cleveland Streets available.
*Box of books will be placed on the front porch of the library and free to take one.
*Tue. & Thurs. - 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. a library staff member will be available to answer your questions by phone. During these same hours, porch pick up of items that have been placed on hold through the on-line system are available. ONLY ITEMS PLACED ON RESERVE THROUGH THE ON-LINE SYSTEM WILL BE AVAILABLE, the library remains closed to patrons on these days.
Chincoteague Island Arts Organization

CiAO's Island Theatre

The Island Theatre and the Theatre Annex are closed until the end of April.
Activities that were to be held in the Island Theatre and the Theatre Annex are suspended during this period. This includes Friday Night at the Movies, Game Day Mondays and the Chincoteague Library's Tech Hour classes.

*The front office of the Town Municipal Center is closed to visitors temporarily and until further notice due to the COVID-19 protocol. Bills can be paid by using the mail drop box in the lobby area or payments can be made online.

The boat ramps at the Veteran's Memorial Park and Eastside
will be closed until the 1st week of April to replace the concrete ramps.
