5th Annual Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program.
Active duty military members and veterans who served our country can be honored by having their picture featured on a patriotic banner in the town.  Banners displayed from Memorial Day to Veteran's Day. Visitors enjoying the Wildlife Loop this spring may notice forestry work on the East side of the trail.  As a part of our ongoing forest management plan, trees will be thinned in that area and up the Service Road.  Please remain on the trails at all times for your safety.  To learn more about Forest Management on the refuge visit   https://www.fws.gov/refuge/chincoteague/  

We spotted the first piping plovers of the season while conducting the pre-season surveys.   
Please remember that our Over Sand Vehicle (OSV) Beach Closure from the Coast Guard Station to the Hook is in effect.
