American Legion Post 159 Poker Run. Event will
benefit our Veterans. Proceeds go to Operation Comfort Warrior and Freedom Hunters. Registration at 9:30 a.m. at AC Cycles in Oak Hall with ride ending at Chincoteague Post 159, last bike in at 3:00 p.m. Food and prizes, 50/50 raffle and silent auction.

Free Shakespeare in the Park. Measure for Measure - a political tragicomedy. Held at the Robert Reed Downtown Waterfront Park. Co-sponsored by CCA and CIAO. Performed by the Brown Box Theatre Project. Bring a chair or blanket. In case of rain the performance will be at the Christ United Methodist Church Hall.

6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Plein Air Art Show & Sale. Held at the Chincoteague Center, 6155 Community Drive. Sponsored by the Chincotegue Cultural Alliance. 50 fine artists from the Mid-Atlantic and beyond paint en plein air (French for painting outdoors) on Chincoteague and Assateague Islands. On Saturday you can see what they've created at a show and sale. Free to the public and plenty parking. Hors d'oeuvres and cash bar. A portion of the artwork sales goes to help the CCA promote the arts on the island.

Local Kiwanis Partners with Dolly Parton.
Starting this Fall, children under the age of 5 who live in the Chincoteague Elementary School Community will be eligible for a free book each month until their 5
th
birthday. The books are provided by the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and mailed to the child at no cost to the family thanks to support from the Kiwanis Club of Chincoteague.
Parents or Guardians can pick up an application at the Chincoteague Elementary School office, the Chincoteague Library, YMCA or Community Health Center. Completed applications can be returned to the school, the library or mailed to Kiwanis at P.O. Box 23, Chincoteague, VA 23336. Applications can be submitted online at imaginationlibrary.com and click "Getting Started" then "Can I Register My Child".
