Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge Waterfowl Weekend.
9:00 a.m. - Dusk. The Wildlife Loop Trail open for extended access. Visitors can drive around the trail. Please drive cautiously as this trail is also a hiking and biking route.
12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Service Road open.
For the special drive, visitors must enter the Wildlife Loop Trail and follow the one-way traffic pattern to the road's entrance. This may take 10 or 15 minutes, due to high volume. All vehicles are expected to completely exit the
Service Road by 4 PM.
Proposed Fee Changes. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking public input on a potential increase in entrance fees in 2020 for the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge (CNWR). Comments may be emailed to
FW5RW_CNWR@fws.gov, or write to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, 8231 Beach Road, Chincoteague, VA 23336.
