We have an exciting lineup of programs and events coming up over the next three months. Please mark your calendars and join us as we continue to connect our members, support Chinatown, and strengthen our business community.

August 22 – Chinatown Cleanup & Battle of the Bao

Honolulu Chinatown

Chinatown Cleanup: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Battle of the Bao: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Start the day by giving back to our Chinatown community at our 6th Chinatown Cleanup, followed by the second Battle of the Bao, celebrating National Bao Day and supporting Chinatown restaurants. Volunteers of all ages are welcome for the cleanup.

September 15 – Educational Seminar: AI Security

The Chinese Chamber Foundation will present an educational seminar focusing on AI security and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on businesses and organizations. More details, including the speaker and registration information, will be announced soon.

September 30 – General Membership Meeting at Kaimuki Plaza Conference Room

Join fellow Chamber members for an evening of networking, Chamber updates, and committee reports. This will be a great opportunity to meet other members, learn about upcoming programs, and get involved with the Chamber.

October 13 – 18th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament at Hoakalei Country Club

Our annual golf tournament will return to the beautiful Hoakalei Country Club on October 13. The tournament, hosted by the Chinatown Community Foundation, supports the Foundation's mission, including scholarships and grants for local students, teachers, and businesses.

Join 77th Narcissus Queen Pageant

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii is accepting applications for the 2027 Narcissus Queen Search! This is an incredible opportunity to embrace your cultural heritage, build self-confidence, learn public speaking, and represent our community during the 77th Anniversary Year of the Sheep.

Contestants will receive free cultural and personal development classes starting in September 2026, covering Chinese history, lion dancing, martial arts, public speaking, and more. Plus, participants receive a free Young Professional Membership with the Chamber!

Contestant Qualifications:

• Ethnicity: Nearly 25% Chinese ancestry.
• Age: 19 to 27 years old on the date of the pageant.
• Marital Status: Single (never married and has not given birth).
• Residency: Must be a Hawaii resident for at least 12 months prior to the pageant.

Important Dates & Details:

• Application Deadline: Friday, August 23, 2026 (Note: Space is limited to the first 14 qualified applicants!)
• Pageant Date: Saturday, January 9, 2027

Join Us for the Annual Chinatown Community Cleanup

Event Announcement: 2nd Annual Battle of Bao

Following the cleanup, celebrate with us at the 2nd Annual Battle of Bao, co-organized by the Chinese Chamber, Trust for Public Land and American Savings Bank, where local restaurants and culinary teams will showcase their creativity and compete for the title of Best Bao in Chinatown. Enjoy great food, community fellowship, and the opportunity to support local businesses.

Date & Time: Saturday, Aug. 22nd, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: A'Ala Park, 280 N King St., Honolulu, HI

Whether you're a longtime volunteer or joining us for the first time, your participation makes a difference. Families, students, community groups, and businesses are all encouraged to participate.

Together, we can make Chinatown cleaner, stronger, and more vibrant for everyone.
